Two Souls, One Heart and an Engagement Photographer
You marry the person you cannot live without. And, engagement is the best part of your love story! It's the new beginning of your life together.
Engagement photography is the most emotional part of my job as an engagement photographer. I love the love reflected at each look, each smile and each photo. Wherever there is love light, there shall be a photograph!
This session is a great way of practicing your wedding photography and it’s best to get the most fun out of it. There will be a lot of posed photographs and will be an exciting time to experience standing in front of the camera and posing as a couple.
While every couple may have different expectations from engagement photographers, I always like to share some ideas. One of them is props and interests. Engagement photographs are widely used for for "save the date" prints and you may consider bringing props that reflect your story. Although this may sound cliche, an empty picture frame, petals, some sort of sign that relates to your wedding date or your names on it (or both), are great for relaxing and will help you warm up in front of the camera. They also bring fun and creative aspect to the photo session.
Props & Activities
I advise my engagement couples to feel free to improvise on the props and activities. Anything that you’d like to see in your engagement photo that will represent your story is always a good shot to have. I’ve seen couples with a champagne bottle and glasses, and a groom was a musician and brought his guitar as that was a part of their meeting story 🙂 I'd like to hear if you'll have props and activities for your engagement photography session. This way I can come up with a detailed engagement photography plan for the day that will add the action, excitement, and personality with the help of props and activities.
One of the things that you need to remember is the fact that props and activities need to fit your own style. If you're a calm couple having an action prop or activity may not reflect your personality. If you're a romantic couple then arranging a picnic setting with a bottle of wine may be a better fit for you.
Engagement Photography Locations in San Diego
This city is such a beautiful place that offers lots of gorgeous spots that create a fabulous engagement scene. Depending on your lifestyle and personality, picking the right place is vital. Like the above picnic example, a beach engagement photograph session may be the right pick for you. If you're not sure about what to pick between a city, beach or more natural location like trails, then I'd suggest to go through the engagement photographs here and also on the web. Once you come up with a list of your favorite photos, that will most likely describe what you're looking for your engagement photography session in San Diego.
