I love capturing proposals! They are soooo romantic and the witnessing the surprise as a proposal photographer is priceless. I must admit it is not an easy task to get ready for proposal and it has lots of excitement, anxiety, and preparation involved with it. That's where I like to help with a warming up proposal photography session before the surprise, which is a couple photography.
As a proposal photographer, I have two photography session options. First one is a one hour session where we work on arranging a proposal photography plan in line with the surprise that's awaiting her.
Second one, and my favorite is two hour photography session at two locations with my couples for their proposals. For sure this is a choice for the couple.. The first place is more of a warm up session. You may be excited and anxious due to proposal and she is not going to be aware of anything other than being in front of the camera!
This pre-proposal photo shooting session generally relieves the stress and gives us beautiful couple photographs. After spending 30-40 minutes at the first spot (if two locations are desired - make sure you checked out my post about the best proposal locations in San Diego) then we move on to the second location and that’s where we can create a scenario for your proposal depending on what you have in mind. This is where the fun part part begins!
Kristyn and Andrew had a similar session where she didn't know what was expecting her after the couple shots. I'm so happy that I was there capturing these most emotional moments of their lives. Their love is truly above the clouds! Such an amazing couple that were born to look into each other's eye. Every shot that I have taken was a reflection of their romance to my lens. What can I say? I loved the way they loved each other and so happy to know them!

After taking photos of the most emotional moments of the wedding proposal, we moved on to the stress free couple photographs 🙂 Both of them were so happy.
The sky is the limit when it comes to planning a wedding proposal. You have lots of choices for coming up with creative wedding proposal ideas from live music, ribbons, pre-set picnic by the ocean, sunset view, propose with a helicopter tour, or just go with one of my favorite one, prose petals.
While it may not be everyone's choice to include petals, champagne, or any other creative marriage proposal ideas, I love using them in the photographs. We had such beautiful proposal photographs in San Diego's one of the best iconic places La Jolla Cove with petals and champagne!
